Inclusive by design

Cyber guidance should be usable under pressure.

HD Cyber Defence is designed to support keyboard, touch, screen-reader, zoom and reduced-motion use across modern browsers and devices.

Accessibility target

The website is developed toward Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This statement describes the design target and review work; it is not a formal third-party conformance certification.

Features included

  • Semantic page landmarks, heading structure and descriptive page titles.
  • A skip link, visible keyboard focus and keyboard-operable navigation, tabs, filters and simulator controls.
  • Pointer targets designed to meet or exceed the WCAG 2.2 minimum target-size requirement.
  • Responsive reflow from desktop to small mobile screens without a separate reduced-content mobile site.
  • Support for operating-system reduced-motion and increased-contrast preferences.
  • A persistent motion control for decorative animation.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and decorative treatment hidden from assistive technology.
  • Search and filter result counts announced without moving keyboard focus.

Known boundaries

Browser print dialogs, email clients, LinkedIn and external reference sites are outside this website’s control. The animated canvas is decorative; equivalent security messages are provided as text. The maturity simulator stores selections locally and may behave differently when browser storage is disabled.
